Catalysts with a metal insert

The catalyst comprises a metal liner that is formed by spiral-shaped metal foils and layered plates on which a layer of precious metals is deposited. They have the advantage of being less susceptible to damage and having a relatively small wall thickness.

The metal catalyst undergoes a disintegration process where, as with the ceramic catalyst, the shell is separated from the metal insert. The precious metals are then separated from the liner using special equipment.
